Walking -
Wilde Lodge is set right beside the river, with beautiful walks starting straight from the house, so there’s no need to get in the car. You’ll have exclusive use of our six-acre oak field, but if you’d like to explore a little further afield, there are also some lovely woodlands and forests listed below.
A 5 minute drive away from the lodge - Bucknell Wood - Woodland Trust
A 10 minute drive from the lodge - The Marches - Kinsley Wood - Woodland Trust

Cycling -
A 25 minute drive from Wilde lodge, Pearce cycles are a bike repair/ sales shop who have a small amount of mountain bikes that could be hired for your stay ( you would need to organise this in advance ).

A 45 minute drive from the lodge will bring you to Elan Valley. Cycling is a great way to see more of beautiful Elan ( there is so much to see ).
If you love cycling, they have lots of options, whether you like the road, hill or challenging tracks. Don’t worry if you haven’t brought your bike with you as there are many places locally you can hire a bike; Elan valley visitors centre OR Neils wheels OR Clive Powell bikes.

Hay on Wye and the Brecon Beacons
A 50 minute drive will bring you to the Drover Cycles hire fleet, the most comprehensive in Wales. Offering a wide range of rental bikes for all ages and riding styles. They have E-mountain bikes, regular mountain bikes, Leisure E-bikes, road bikes, hybrid/leisure bikes, and kids bikes and trailers.
They will deliver bikes to Wilde lodge for a flat fee of £10 plus every £2 for every mile ( Wilde lodge is 27 miles away ). But this needs to be arranged in advance as they get super booked up.
