Helen and Chris fest ‘24

Friday 24th May 2024 – Monday 27th May 2024

So…..thus far Helen still appears to be on board with getting married so, barring last minute common sense kicking in, it looks like we’re actually going to go ahead with this.

We are so looking forward to you joining us to celebrate our wedding at Wilde Lodge on 25th May (not the 27th as Chris wrote in the invites!)

The day before – Friday 24th May:

Those staying on site are welcome to arrive from 4pm.

Those not on site, but would like to come along and say hi, please feel free to join us at any time from 4pm as well.

If you plan to meet with us on the Friday, and want to eat, please let us know.

(Be warned you may be roped into assisting to calm the “happy” couple down or preparing for the “big” day).

You are welcome to bring your own drink on the Friday.

The “Big” day – also known as Saturday 25th May:

For those staying on site you may be wondering what you will do for breakfast, I know Chris has as he’ll be in a tent.

We will provide some simple options, although for those who wish and have time, Knighton is not far away and has several cafés – you’ll just need to argue over who is driving!

The Ceremony will take place at 12.30, however please arrive by 11.30, in order to take your seats for 12:15 and see if Helen turns up or not. You will get to witness a nervous Chris who will be sharing in your amazement if she does.

If everything goes as it should there will be Canapes from 13.30 on the lawn, or elsewhere if it’s raining, with the fire feast from 15.30hrs, if you are sorted correctly!!

Evening guests to arrive 19:00 and the dancing can begin

Please do not bring your own drink on the Saturday as the bar will be open on site.

The day after the night before - Sunday 26th May:

As we all wake on the Sunday morn’, questioning our life choices, and if you’re not sick of the sight of us by then, we will be putting on a BBQ on Sunday afternoon from 4pm.

Please let us know if you would like us to throw a burger or summit on for you.

Evening guests are also welcome to come along on the Sunday if you would like.

The surroundings of Wilde Lodge, and the area generally, are stunning so I imagine we will head out for a walk at some stage…

You are welcome to bring your own drink on Sunday.

Bell Tent options & booking information

OK, the bad news is that the bell tents have gone.

Those wanting to stay off site then please remember that we are being awkward and getting married on a bank holiday, so things are already booking up quickly.

At the bottom of this page you’ll find a link to some accommodation ideas but there are other options.

Taxi’s

“But how does one get to the venue and back you awkward people?”

Glad you asked – taxi’s

We advised booking in advance was a must! If you haven’t already done this however, you can let us know where you are staying, and we can try to work with a local taxi firm to coordinate pick ups etc…this should reduce the cost and get you to the venue on time……hopefully! This may not be possible, but we are looking into it.

Please let us know where you’ll be staying (not in a stalking way of course).

Gifts

As we said on the invitations, Chris really doesn’t need any more toys, there’s nowhere to put his Lego, transformers and other geek paraphernalia as it is.

Some people have however been asking us if there is anything we would like, or where we are going on honeymoon – we’re heading off to Canada! If you would like to make a small contribution to the bear spray to help us survive / avoid being eaten, it will of course be appreciated but please, please don’t feel obliged. We are already grateful / surprised that everyone is making the effort to travel for the wedding.

(Chris has already bought new trainers so that he can outrun me)

Looking forward to seeing you all in May,

Love
